MISSION ESPADA

Mission San Francisco de la Espada was built in 1731 and is the southmost of the San Antonio missions. Little visited by tourists, its humble scale and construction seems to increase its mystery and spirituality. The chapel has a timber roof and uniquely shaped arch at the door.
