SMITH-YOUNG TOWER

Another view of the River Walk and the Smith-Young Tower, later called the Transit Tower. A rustic iron bridge can be seen spanning the river at Navarro street. This was the location of the shallowest part of the river -- the official crossing point during the early years of the city as well as during the Alamo battle.
